Tourney scheduler helps you quickly schedule your tournament games with the Autoschedule feature while avoiding potential schedule conflicts.
To get to the scheduler, click Schedule from within your tournament.
Before you schedule your tournament, you will need to:
- Add divisions
- Add teams and assign them to divisions (optional)
- Build tournament stages
- Add venues and subvenues
1. Create Time Slots
Time slots are game placeholders. Tourney cannot autoschedule games until time slots have been created.
Step 1: Click Setup next to Create Time Slots to schedule games into
Step 2: Set the Duration of each game and the Gap between games
Step 3: Enter the Start Time of the first game on each day
Step 4: Enter the End Time of the last game on each day
Step 5: Select the subvenues and days to create time slots for with these settings
Step 6: Click Create Time Slots.
- Time slots will use the settings from Settings > Game Limits if left unchanged.
2. Select Stages to schedule
Select a division or an individual stage within a division to schedule. You can also choose to Select All Stages to schedule all games at once.
3. Add Scheduling Restrictions
Scheduling restrictions allow you to accommodate exceptions, such as teams arriving late or a coach who coaches multiple teams.
There are two types of scheduling restrictions:
- A team cannot play at a certain time
- Two teams cannot play at the same time
To set scheduling restrictions:Step 1: Click Add Restriction
Step 2: Select the team(s) that the restriction will apply to
Step 3: If applicable, set the time the team cannot play
4. Set Game Distribution preference
Evenly: distributes games across all time slots.
Early: schedules games earlier if possible so that your tournament finishes earlier.
Later: schedules games later if possible so that your tournament finishes later.
Randomly: randomly assigns games to time slots.
5. Click Autoschedule
Click the big green Autoschedule button to schedule games to time slots according to the current settings and restrictions.
6. Adjust final schedule and resolve any scheduling conflicts
Don’t like the autoscheduler results? You can drag and drop games around in the Scheduler or the Calendar view to meet your needs. You can also Lock the games you like and ask the Autoscheduler to regenerate a different schedule that may suit your needs better.
